Why does my dog lick the air?

Sometimes your dog just has something stuck in their teeth and appears to lick the air to remove it. Licking the air is also a common coping mechanism for stress in dogs. In more serious cases this strange act can be a sign of nausea and if it persists you should consider seeing a vet.
