Pickles West London
Richard is one of the founders of Pickles. He started the business after going to many vets with his dog Pickles. He noticed not only was the experience not great for many people it wasn't good for the clinical team. He's now passionate about making environments people can give the best care for pets. He can be found cuddling dogs in the reception.
Rory is a seasoned London veterinary surgeon with almost a decade of experience working in the capital under his belt. A graduate of the Royal Veterinary College and certificate holder since 2018, he brings his surgical expertise and leadership to our team. Beyond the clinic, Rory is a keen advocate for animal welfare, serving as a charity ambassador for the RSPCA and StreetVet. He has a wealth of charity experience too, having donated time to animal charities around the world, most recently spending two weeks in India teaching local vets how to perform routine surgeries. Notably, he is also the vet on Blue Peter, amplifying his passion for animals to a wider audience.
Alice graduated from Bristol University in 2019 and has since worked in first opinion practice in both London and Kent. She is currently working towards a certificate in Small Animal Medicine. When she is not at work, she looks after her two, very senior but adorable cats, Penny and Hendrix and plays an unusual sport called korfball.
Claudia is a Venezuelan/Portuguese Veterinary Surgeon, graduated from the University of Lisbon in 2020. She has been working in busy first opinion hospitals in England for the last 2 years. She is currently interested in exploring ways to use technology to help improve pet care. Claudia has special interests in ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, endoscopy and internal medicine, considering a postgraduate qualification. Outside of work she enjoys writing (poetry), learning German, playing tennis and exploring new cafes to study in.
Alice graduated from the University of Surrey, and then worked in a busy first opinion practice in Swindon. She has a specific interest in dentistry and nutrition, and is working with the University of Surrey on further research into veterinary nutrition. When not at work her cheeky miniature schnauzer Percy keeps her very busy!
Emily recently graduated from Bristol University. In addition to her veterinary degree, she also holds a degree in Zoology. Emily has developed a particular interest in surgery and aspires to further her education in this field as her career progresses. Outside of work, Emily enjoys leading an active lifestyle, from going on long bike rides to training for the next sporting event.
Nurse Sara, our esteemed Veterinary Nurse, qualifying in 2014 from the Royal College Sara began her journey in the veterinary field as a PCA and manager in South Africa, later becoming Hospital Head Nurse at a busy animal hospital where she discovered her love for orthopaedics, emergency and critical care. Her commitment to animal welfare and passion for continuous learning and teaching make her a vital part of the Pickles team.Sara's professional path is marked by her dedication to both animal care and team mentorship. Her philosophy is centered around a deep passion for animals, people, and lifelong learning.
Clare is a South African Registered Veterinary Nurse. She qualified in 2022 moving from human nursing to veterinary in 2018 to fulfil a life long dream. She grew up with dogs, budgies and hamsters but has become a cat lady. She has a lovely tuxedo cat called Poirot due to his moustache, who she rescued. She has a keen interest in anaesthesia, emergencies and imaging. In her spare time she likes to paint and swing dance.
Zoe is an Australian Veterinary nurse who began her career working with exotic animals in a wildlife centre. After spending a year working with a diverse range of animals from all over the world, she moved into the clinical side where she completed her veterinary nurse degree. She has made the move over to London where she looks forward to visiting many countries across Europe. Her veterinary interests include pathology, anaesthetics and orthopaedics.
Stacey is our Customer Experience Lead at Pickles. He has been in the Veterinary industry for 10+ years, and his passion is giving pets and their parents the best possible experience as soon as they walk through the door. At home, Stacey and his husband have three rescue Sphynx cats – Seraphina, Severus, and Sepphira – and caring for them fills most of their time. When the occasion arises, however, he enjoys attending concerts and going to the theatre, especially to see musicals. You'll find him warmly greeting you at the front of house as soon as you enter Pickles.
Charlotte is new to the veterinary sector but has been surrounded by animals since she was born. Having had dogs, cats, chickens, horses and tortoises, she has always been involved in the care for animals. She has previous experience in the care for people, but is wanting to move across! At home she currently has two pugs, Princess and Bonnie
Sophia graduated from Southampton University last summer after studying marine biology and has recently got a place at university for next September to study veterinary medicine. Sophia is new to the vet world but excited to be part of the team. At home she has two lovely dogs, one labradoodle and one maltipoo called Twix and Mango.
Maddy is previously trained in the creative arts sector, but alongside that ran a dog-walking business where she could expand on her love for animals and learn more about their care needs. She currently has a spirited black labrador called Elsie at home, as well as three white cloud minnows (Uther, Merlin and Arthur) and a snail (Cartman).
